Another short-term kidnapping incident was reported from Karachi, where a businessman claimed to have been abducted by some unidentified individuals wearing police uniforms.
The businessman filed the First Information Report (FIR), claiming that some unidentified individuals in the white Corolla vehicle with police lights, intercepted his car near Jamali Bridge at M-9 Motorway, Karachi on January 17, 2025.
According to the victim’s account, the four assailants approached him with one wearing a police cap and jacket, another dressed in a salwar kameez holding a walkie-talkie, and the other two carrying shotguns. They forced him out of his car, bound his hands, blindfolded him, and then shoved him into their vehicle.
“A suspect took my car and went to the highway from Gwalior Society,” the businessman said.
The businessman in his statement disclosed that both vehicles continued to drive for a long time, with suspects taking him around different areas.
During the journey, the kidnappers asked for the tracker location which is usually installed in vehicles, and reportedly tortured the victim.
“The accused kept changing by stopping the car at some places,” the victim claimed.
The accused later found Rs 415,000 cash in the car after which the businessman plea to take the cash and leave him.
After driving for another hour, the culprits slowed down the car and threw the victim on the Northern Bypass before escaping the scene.
Sachal police have registered a case under the robbery section of the incident that took place on January 17, however, whether the accused involved in the incident are police officials or not is yet to be determined by the investigation officer.
