Sindh Excise and Taxation department, during 17 days of the road checking campaign aimed at recovery of outstanding taxes, collected over Rs 12 million across the province.

As per the details released by the Excise and Taxation Department, a total of 19,433 vehicles were checked during the first two weeks of the campaign – starting from January 1, 2025 – across the province.

The Excise and Taxation teams checked 5,418 vehicles resulting in Rs 2.75 million collection in motor vehicle taxes from Hyderabad Division, while in Sukkur Division 2,682 vehicles were checked, with Rs 2.068 million collected.

In Larkana Division Rs 1.611 million was collected from 1,772 vehicles, while Mirpurkhas Division collected Rs 3.95 million from 3,992 vehicles.

Shaheed Benazirabad Division collected Rs 1.317 million from 2,012 vehicles, and Karachi Division contributed over Rs 500,000 after checking 3,557 vehicles.

Meanwhile, 3557 vehicles were checked in Karachi Division, with over Rs 500,000 Motor Vehicle Tax Collected by the taxation team.

The ongoing road checks are part of an initiative led by Provincial Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
