As the city grappled with the cold weather, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted that Karachi is expected to witness strong icy winds for the next two days.
As per the weather report, the intensity of cold weather continues in most parts of the country, while strong winds are expected in Karachi on Friday and Saturday.
The Meteorological Department stated that the weather may remain cold even during the day due to strong icy winds.
Earlier to this, Karachi experienced a cold wave that is expected to persist until January 17, according to Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz.
He confirmed that the city’s cold weather will intensify, with strong northeastern winds blowing at speeds of 25 to 30 km/h.
Starting January 15, temperatures at night are predicted to drop to single digits, reaching a minimum of 9°C to 11°C, accompanied by a 65 percent humidity level and winds from the northeast at 20 km/h.
The cold spell will continue until January 17, when western winds are anticipated to reduce the intensity of the cold.
