The inauguration ceremony of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, along with photo sessions of team captains is expected to take place in Karachi, as per sources.

Sources close to the development revealed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to hold the opening ceremony in Karachi as the inaugural match of the tournament is scheduled to be held in the same city.

Sources confirm that the captains of all participating teams have been invited to attend the ceremony and take part in a photo session.

However, there is no confirmation yet regarding whether Indian captain Rohit Sharma will travel to Pakistan for the event. If he does attend, the PCB has stated that he will be warmly welcomed in the country.

The ICC is expected to officially announce the ceremony details soon, and the PCB will be responsible for making arrangements as the host.

Earlier in the day, Indian media reported that Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, is expected to visit Pakistan for the pre-event activities ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) expressed safety and logistic concerns regarding the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled for 2025 in Pakistan, and decided not to send Indian cricketers to the country.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been tight-lipped about the situation, with no confirmation on Sharma’s arrival till now.

However, sources from the PCB suggested that the Indian captain should attend the event in Pakistan.
