Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, is expected to visit Pakistan for the pre-event activities ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, as per Indian media reports.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) expressed safety and logistic concerns regarding the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled for 2025 in Pakistan, and decided not to send Indian cricketers to the country.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been tight-lipped about the situation, with no confirmation on Sharma’s arrival till now.

However, sources from the PCB suggested that the Indian captain should attend the event in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the PCB officials informed the ICC to gather all the captains of participating teams, including India, in Pakistan for the pre-event activities before the tournament begins.

India’s reluctance to send its team to Pakistan stems from the Indian government’s stance, which has not permitted Indian teams to travel to Pakistan citing security concerns.

As a result, India’s Champions Trophy matches are expected to take place in Dubai, UAE.

The PCB has maintained that as the host for the tournament is Pakistan, the trophy opening ceremony will be held in the country, and ongoing discussions between the ICC, PCB, and BCCI are attempting to resolve the matter.
