Sarfaraz Ahmed among other key players left unpicked in PSL Draft 2025

Yesterday, the experienced wicket-keeping batter – Sarfaraz Ahmed parted ways with Quetta Gladiators, and today, he is among the many key players goes unsold in the PSL draft.

During the PSL ceremony, Nadeem Omar had mentioned that fans would see Sarfaraz Ahmed in a new role with Quetta Gladiators.

The experienced wicketkeeper-batter, who played 86 PSL matches for the Gladiators, scored 1,525 runs at an average of 29.32, including seven half-centuries.

He also led Quetta to their historic maiden PSL title in 2019.

Other than Pakistani players like Qasim Akram, Shahnawaz Dahani, Mirza Tahir Baig, Rohail Nazir, Imran Jr, Ihsanullah, Shahab Khan, Nisar Ahmad, M Faizan, Mubasir Khan, Sahibzada Farhan, and M Musa, several standout foreign players also went unpicked during the PSL draft.

Musa Khan, despite an exceptional performance in domestic tournaments – taking 38 wickets in 5 first-class matches at an average of 9.81 and 16 wickets in 9 T20s with an economy rate of 8 – remained unnoticed.

Additionally, experienced internationals like Jason Roy, who previously played for Quetta Gladiators, and Alex Hales, a key member of Islamabad United, failed to secure a spot.

Both players have been crucial for their teams in the past, known for their explosive batting. The unavailability of such talent has sparked speculation about late additions or future moves in the season.
