Ramadan, Eid ul-Fitr 2025: Expected dates for Pakistan revealed

Ramadan moon sighting varies globally based on geographical location and weather conditions. In 2024, Ramadan began on March 11 in Pakistan.

According to astronomical predictions, Ramadan 2025 is expected to start on March 1 or 2 in Pakistan, with the moon likely to be sighted on February 28 or March 1.

In Saudi Arabia, Gulf countries, and several European nations, Ramadan is predicted to begin on March 1. The fasting duration during the first days of Ramadan is expected to be around 13 hours in most countries.

The exact date of Eid ul Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, will depend on the moon sighting. However, it is expected to fall on March 30 or 31.

Meanwhile, the Ruwit-e-Hilal Committee will make the final announcement regarding the moon sighting.

Astronomers predict that the Eid ul Fitr moon will be sighted on March 29 or 30, signaling the conclusion of Ramadan and the start of Eid celebrations.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is a sacred time for fasting, reflection, and spiritual growth for Muslims worldwide.

During this month, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, refraining from food and drink, which is one of the five pillars of Islam.

The purpose of fasting is to cultivate self-discipline, empathy, and a deeper connection with Allah.

In addition to fasting, Ramadan is a period of spiritual reflection, prayer, and Quran recitation. Many Muslims aim to complete the entire Quran during this month and participate in Taraweeh prayers in congregation after breaking their fast.

Ramadan is also a time for giving, with Zakat (charity) being an essential practice, encouraging Muslims to help those in need.
