PIA to resume direct flights to Paris tomorrow

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to resume direct flights to Paris on January 10, 2025, after more than four years.

As per media reports, the twice-weekly flights will operate between Islamabad and Paris, marking a key development for business, tourism, and people-to-people connections.

The first flight, PK749, will depart from Islamabad at 12:00 pm with over 300 passengers on board.

Minister for Defense, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, PIA acting CEO Khurram Mushtaq, and the Secretary of Aviation will be presented at the Islamabad airport to see off the passengers.

“PIA’s Boeing 777 will operate the flight, which has been warmly received, with the next four flights also fully booked in advance,” the spokesperson said.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PIA is set to resume flight operations to Europe within two weeks following the European Air Safety Agency’s (EASA) decision to lift its ban on the national carrier.

Sources confirm that PIA will deploy Boeing 777 aircraft for European routes, with preparations underway to restart flights to the United Kingdom (UK).

Officials are optimistic that the UK will lift its restrictions on PIA operations in the coming days.

The announcement of EASA’s decision was confirmed by the Director General of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA), Nadir Shafi Dar.

He credited the achievement to the collective efforts of the Prime Minister, Aviation Minister, and Aviation Secretary.
