Pakistan has once again urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to ensure an immediate and unconditional ceasefire to stop the ongoing violence and destruction in Gaza.
The Alternate Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, Asim Iftikhar, emphasized the need for an end to the conflict in Gaza during a UNSC speech focused on the Middle East and Palestine.
He called on the international community to unite in defending the UN Charter and international law.
Iftikhar also urged the UNSC to create safe humanitarian corridors for providing life-saving care and prioritize rebuilding Gaza’s damaged healthcare system.
He reiterated Pakistan’s call for Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations, describing it as a moral imperative for securing the Two-State solution.
