Additional Inspector General (IG) of Police, Javed Alam Odho, warned of strict action against protestors as the road blockage causing public inconvenience in Karachi.
Addressed a ceremony in Karachi, Odho expressed concern over the Parachinar incident but emphasized that road blockages were causing public inconvenience in Karachi and assured that all roads in the city would be cleared by Maghrib.
He condemned the ongoing protests, stating it is not acceptable to paralyze a city in the name of protest.
Speaking to the media, he acknowledged the protesters’ are willing to negotiate but now it’s time to take action.
“So far, we have been talking leniently,” Odho said. “Now, we will take strict action, and efforts will be made to clear the roads.”
He pointed out the severe disruption caused to the people of Karachi over the past three days, adding that no further concessions would be given.
‘This is not about those who agree or disagree. We must establish the government’s writ,” he stated, warning that action would be taken against anyone interfering with the government’s authority.
Odho highlighted that it was a matter of upholding the law, and warned that action would be taken according to the law against the individuals found disrupting the law.
