The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has announced an increase in the prize money for athletes who win medals in the Olympics and other international competitions.
According to the notification, gold medalists in the Summer, Winter, and Paralympic Games will now receive Rs 10 million. Silver medalists in the Olympics will receive Rs 7.5 million, while bronze medalists will get Rs 5 million.
For the Asian Games, gold medalists will be awarded Rs 7.5 million, silver medalists Rs 5 million, and bronze medalists Rs 3 million.
Similarly, for the Commonwealth Games, gold, silver, and bronze medalists will receive Rs 5 million, Rs 3 million, and Rs 2 million, respectively.
The PSB has also increased prize money for athletes in the Special Olympics World Games, Blind World Games, and Deaflympics.
Para-athletes who win a gold medal in the Commonwealth and Islamic Solidarity Games will receive Rs 5 million.
For the Asian Championships, athletes who win a gold medal will be awarded Rs 2 million. Individual gold medalists in the National Games and Quaid-e-Azam Games will receive Rs 1 million, while silver and bronze medalists will get Rs 500,000 and Rs 250,000, respectively.
The prize money for team events in the National and Quaid-e-Azam Games has been set at Rs 500,000, Rs 250,000, and Rs 100,000 for gold, silver, and bronze medalists, respectively.
Additionally, all medalists will be issued a gold card, which will grant them access to facilities provided by the PSB and coaching centers.
