The government is considering a new ordinance to address the registration of religious madrasas and find an acceptable solution for all parties involved.
Consultations are underway at the Presidency, Prime Minister’s Office, and the Law Ministry, with JUI-F’s legal advisor, Senator Kamran Murtaza, also participating in the process.
Once the consultation is completed, the President is expected to issue the ordinance concerning madrasa registration.
The proposal for this ordinance emerged during meetings between PM Shehbaz Sharif, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and President Asif Ali Zardari.
All relevant stakeholders, including the JUI-F, are being consulted to ensure broad support for the initiative.
The ordinance aims to provide legal protection for madrasas under the Directorate General Religious Education and Society Registration Amendment Act.
