The government of Sindh, under the Sports Department, organized the Donkey Cart Race in Karachi.
On the occasion, the government announced its decision to register the owners of donkey carts participating in races in Sindh.
The decision follows a recent donkey cart race organized by the Sindh Sports Department from Mai Kolachi Road to Ferrier Hall in Karachi, where more than 40 participants, including Sartaj, Bijli, and Chingiz, competed.
Sartaj emerged as the winner of the race, with the owner receiving a prize of Rs 100,000, a medal, and a trophy.
The second and third place winners were awarded Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000, respectively, while three additional participants received Rs 25,000 each.
The initiative is part of an effort to promote donkey cart racing in Sindh while ensuring the welfare of the animals involved.
According to Abdul Aleem Lashari, Secretary of the Sindh Sports Department, financial and administrative support will be provided to donkey cart racing fans following the registration process.
Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mehar has directed the department to organize various sports activities at the district level, recognizing the talent among the youth of Sindh.
