The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has officially registered a new locally produced ventilator, named “Innovent,” marking a significant achievement for the country’s medical industry.

Manufactured by Essence Industries Karachi, the Innovent ventilator has successfully completed its clinical trials and is now licensed for local production.

The Innovent ventilator is not only expected to meet Pakistan’s domestic demand but will also be exported, contributing to the country’s economy.

With a shelf life of five years, it is specifically designed to assist elderly patients.

In a statement to a private television channel, DRAP CEO Dr Asim Rauf stressed the importance of promoting locally made medicines and medical equipment.

He described the export of the Innovent ventilator as a key milestone for Pakistan’s pharmaceutical industry, which he said has entered a new era.

He added that these life-saving devices would not only help meet healthcare needs but also serve as a symbol of Pakistan’s global recognition, showcasing the country’s growing technological capabilities and commitment to innovation.
