Sindh to establish medical city in Karachi

Sindh government has announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art medical city in Karachi for manufacturing medicine locally.

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, while addressing the media in Karachi, highlighted the growing interest of foreign investors in various sectors, including the Dhabeji Economic Zone, agriculture, energy, and transport.

He stressed that increasing investment across the province remains a top priority for the Sindh government.

Memon underlined the provincial administration’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure development through robust public-private partnerships.

Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that the provincial government intends to start bullet trains from Karachi to Sukkur and Karachi to Hyderabad.

During the same press conference, Sharjeel Memon announced employment opportunities for Pakistani youth, with plans to create 50,000 jobs through various initiatives.

Speaking to the media, Minister Memon revealed that Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has been actively engaging with investors, aiming to finalize multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) within the next few days.

These efforts include the establishment of a Medical City in Karachi to bolster the health sector and attract foreign investments.

The provincial information minister stated that foreign investors will assist in setting up industries in the Dhabeji Economic Zone, which will provide employment to 50,000 individuals.

He further added that foreign investors have shown significant interest in the province’s energy sector, particularly due to Sindh’s ability to generate low-cost electricity from Tharparkar’s coal reserves.
