The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has opened applications for Pakistani researchers and scholars to apply to its esteemed “Research Awards 2024.”
As per the HEC, the deadline for online application submission is “December 17, 2024, by 11:59 PM”. The awards aim to honor exceptional research contributions that advance intellectual growth, promote social welfare, and foster impactful publications, with cash prices announced for winners in three different categories.
Awards will be presented in three broad disciplinary domains, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Law, Education, Management, or Public Policy, Physical Sciences, Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics, Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Agriculture, or Veterinary Sciences.
The Best Researcher (Cash Prize: Rs. 500,000). This award recognizes lifetime achievements or groundbreaking single publications contributing to intellectual and social development.
Likewise, the Best Young Researcher will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 500,000 for early-career researchers under 40 who demonstrate potential for significant discoveries and impactful work.
Similarly, under the Best Publication, a cash prize of Rs 1,000,000 will be awarded to the publications with significant contributions to human welfare, socio-economic challenges, and global research.
Eligibility:
It is worth mentioning here that the applicants eligible for both categories (a) and (b) may apply for only one.
- Applicants must reside in Pakistan for at least three years (or one year for young researchers) by January 1, 2024.
- Publications must adhere to HEC’s plagiarism policy and not have received previous awards.
- Research articles must be published in HEC-recognized W-category journals with at least 100 citations.
- Books should be published by recognized academic presses.
