Two more citizens killed over resisting robberies in Karachi

Two more civilians lost their lives, and one was injured during robbery incidents in Bin Qasim and Sukhna areas of Karachi.

The Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, took notice of the street crimes and instructed Karachi Police Chief Javed Alam Odho to enhance patrols to ensure public safety.

In a separate incident near Bhains Colony, robbers fired on two men during a mobile phone snatching attempt.

Twenty-six-year-old Mazhar Ali succumbed to his injuries en route to Jinnah Hospital, while 28-year-old Yaqoob is receiving treatment.

Mazhar’s cousin revealed that he attempted to stop the robbers after they snatched his mobile phone, although he managed to capture one of the assailants, he was fatally shot in the back.

Eyewitnesses detained one of the robbers, who is now in police custody, while the other escaped.

The Sindh Chief Minister expressed concern over the rising street crimes and instructed law enforcement to increase vigilance and take swift action to curb such incidents.

Following the incident, the death toll has raised from such crimes to 103.

Earlier to this, Sindh police once again failed to control street crimes in Karachi as citizens reported the theft of 50 motorcycles and cars within the last 24 hours.

Among the incidents, three motorcycles were taken at gunpoint, while 45 motorcycles were stolen, along with two cars parked outside the residences of the victims.

The thefts occurred across various police jurisdictions, with incidents of motorcycle theft primarily reported from Shah Latif Town, Sukhan, and Sachal police stations, meanwhile, the car thefts were notably reported from Gulshan-e-Maymar and Gulistan-e-Johar areas of Karachi.
