The business community of Karachi has announced the launch of a new airline, Air Karachi, marking a significant milestone in the city’s aviation sector.
According to media reports, prominent businessman Hanif Gauhar stated that the airline has been officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
Meanwhile, an application for the operational license has been submitted to the federal government.
In its initial phase, Air Karachi plans to lease three aircraft, with Air Vice Marshal (Retired) Imran, Southern Commander, appointed as the airline’s CEO, bringing extensive expertise to the new venture.
The airline is being established with an investment of Rs 5 billion, with each shareholder contributing Rs 50 million.
Gauhar expressed optimism about the airline’s potential to boost Karachi’s business and tourism sectors, ensuring efficient and competitive air travel options.
