The reasons for the UAE’s visa restrictions on Pakistani citizens have been disclosed, revealing concerns over social media behaviour, fake documents, and criminal activities.
According to Dawn News, UAE officials expressed these complaints during a meeting between the Pakistani ambassador to the UAE and local authorities.
The UAE’s cabinet proposed the ban based on collected issues, which the Pakistani embassy has shared with Islamabad in official documents.
The UAE authorities highlighted multiple reasons for the growing tensions, including the alleged participation of Pakistani nationals in political activities and protests within the country, which is a direct violation of Emirati laws.
Additionally, social media posts by some Pakistanis criticizing UAE government policies have reportedly fueled unrest.
Instances of document fraud, such as fake degree verifications and forged identity cards and passports, were reported among job seekers.
The authorities also flagged a higher involvement of Pakistani nationals in criminal activities, including theft, fraud, begging, prostitution, and drug-related offenses, compared to other expatriate communities.
The UAE’s zero-tolerance policy toward activities that compromise its security and stability underscores the seriousness of these issues.
The UAE stated that these issues, discussed in a cabinet meeting, led to the implementation of the visa ban of the Pakistani nationals.
