The Additional District and Sessions Judge Karachi West has delivered a verdict in the case of a citizen’s murder over resisting a robbery in September 2020.
The court sentenced the main accused, Farooq, to death and handed co-accused Malik Mukhtiar life imprisonment.
Additionally, both were convicted for robbery and received an extra 10 years in prison alongside fines of Rs 1 million each.
In its decision, the court also ordered the accused to pay Rs 300,000 as compensation to the deceased’s family.
The court noted the challenges of maintaining law and order amid rising lawlessness and organized crime in the metropolis.
It is worth mention here that the case was registered against the accused robbers at Surjani Town police station back in September 2020.
