FBR launches ‘ePayment 2.0’ to streamline tax payment process

In a move to modernize tax administration, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched ePayment 2.0, a new digital platform designed to simplify and secure tax payments across Pakistan.

The newly introduced advanced system will allow taxpayers to make payments for Income Tax, Sales Tax, Federal Excise Duty, and Withholding Taxes directly from their bank accounts via internet banking, ATMs, and mobile banking.

Inaugurated by FBR Director General IT&DT, Ms. Aisha Farooq, at PRAL Headquarters in Islamabad, ePayment 2.0 replaces the older system, offering a unified interface within the IRIS 2.0 portal.

This upgrade eliminates the need for physical bank visits and streamlines transactions, as users can now generate a unique Payment Slip ID (PSID) and receive a Computerized Payment Receipt (CPR) in real-time via email and SMS.

The FBR stated that ePayment 2.0 is part of a broader government initiative to create a business-friendly tax environment through efficient digital solutions.

With advanced features for PSID tracking and improved transparency, the system minimizes errors, enhances accountability, and significantly improves the user experience for taxpayers across Pakistan.
