Leaders from Arab and Muslim nations gathered in Saudi Arabia for a summit to address escalating conflicts involving Israel, Gaza, and Lebanon, Al Jazeera reported.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also attending the summit, representing Pakistan.
Saudi Arabia’s official press agency reported that the summit will focus on “continued Israeli aggression” in Palestinian territories and Lebanon, along with broader regional developments.
The summit is part of Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic efforts, following an “international alliance” meeting last month aimed at advancing a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
This gathering coincides with the anniversary of last year’s Riyadh summit, where leaders from the Arab League and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned Israeli actions in Gaza.
Leaders including Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati arrived in Riyadh for the event.
