The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officials were held hostage during a routine tax inspection by staff members at a wedding hall located at Dalmia Road area of Karachi.

As per the statement of the Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Hamza, the incident occurred as the FBR investigated alleged under-reported earnings by the marriage hall

Upon arriving, the FBR team encountered unexpected resistance and was held hostable by the employees of the wedding hall.

Assistant Commissioner Hamza responded swiftly after being alerted, arriving at the scene to negotiate the release of the officials.

Initially, some FBR members were freed, but tensions continued, even with local police on site, as the hall staff reportedly disregarded the presence of the authorities.
