Robbers in police uniform loot four Polish nationals in Karachi

A total of four tourists from Poland were looted at gunpoint by robbers wearing police uniforms in the Defence House Authority (DHA) area of Karachi.

The police officials confirmed that the incident took place two days ago in DHA’s Khayaban-e-Mujahid area, where the armed assailants, wearing police outfits, robbed over US$1,800 from the Polish Nationals.

The police spokesperson stated that the tourists were traveling without security and did not inform the law enforcers about their visit to the metropolis.

The police recorded the statements of the victims, however, none of the tourists lodged a report.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister of Sindh – Murad Ali Shah – took notice of the robbery incident and sought a report from Karachi’s Additional Inspector General (AIG) – Javed Odho.

The chief minister strongly condemned the robbing incident involving foreigners, calling it a ‘demoralizing incident’ that damages Pakistan’s reputation.

He further added that the safety of the tourists plays important role for promoting positive image of the country. He directed Additional IG Karachi to submit a report related to the incident and ensure the arrest and strict punishment of the robbers involved in the incident.
