Karachi Mayor, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, assured the Consul General that the city’s administration would fully support Japanese businesses and investment, as the city’s growing appeal to foreign investors.
A meeting between Karachi Mayor, Murtaza Wahab, was held with the Consul General of Japan, Hattori Masaru, at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s headquarters on Friday, focusing on building stronger cultural and economic connections between the two nations.
During the meeting, Consul General Masaru extended an invitation to Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab to attend the upcoming Japan Festival, which is scheduled to be held next month as the chief guest.
Mayor Wahab warmly welcomed the consul general in Karachi, highlighting the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Japan.
He acknowledged Japan’s support for Karachi’s development, specifically commending the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for its contributions to projects that have significantly improved the infrastructure of the metropolis.
He further underlined Karachi residents’ appreciation for Japanese culture, announcing the city’s commitment to supporting cultural and educational exchanges from various countries and offering to host a Japanese cultural event at Frere Hall.
Both leaders anticipate further strengthening the Pakistan-Japan relationship in the future.
