Karachi has sent in 42% more tax to the reserves in 2022 than last year.
According to a statement, FBR has set a new record in tax collection from Karachi.
From July 2021 to March 2022, more than Rs1144 billion in taxes was collected from Karachi. In the last financial year, this amount was Rs805 billion.
The federal government had set a target of Rs 1,041 billion tax collection from Karachi. According to the statement, 103 billion more than the target was collected. A target of 121 billion rupees was set for Karachi in March 2022 but the tax office received 140 billion rupees from Karachi in March 2022.
