A man from Karachi was killed and decapitated and his body was dismembered at an apartment on Abdullah Haroon Road.
Police claim that they suspect the man’s wife to be the killer. This information was relayed by South District SSP Zubair Nazir Sheikh.
Police claim to have a video of 70-year-old Sheikh Sohail’s wife’s confession, which was obtained after she was arrested from the crime scene with hands and clothes soaked in blood, SSP Nazir said.
“Sohail was allegedly killed by his wife and his body was found in pieces inside their residence. Police have arrested the suspect and collected evidence from the scene and further investigation into the incident is underway,” he said.
Meanwhile, Preedy police station officials, who had reached the crime scene to arrest the suspect, said that it was unlikely that the suspect acted alone.
In her confession, the wife is said to have admitted to the murder but it has also come to light that she claimed to have been in an abusive marriage and that Sohail had repeatedly threatened to kill her and implicate her father and brother in a robbery if she tried to leave him.
Furthermore, the victim’s family refused to accept the woman as the victim’s wife and claimed that she had come to their doorstep one day a year ago and made the claim that she was Sohail’s wife. The family openly admitted to not having accepted the relationship.
