The price of a 100 KG bag has been set at 10,000 rupees, so the Sindh government will purchase wheat from farmers for 100 rupees per kilogramme.
After receiving cabinet approval, the provincial food department announced the price.
Earlier, while presiding over a meeting of the Sindh Cabinet, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah gave ministers an update on the water management project and climate resilient agriculture.
According to provincial minister Manzoor Wassan, the project aims to change agriculture while taking climate change into consideration. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) will be consulted during the implementation of this $3.4 billion project.
“The crop cultivation methods will be changed in view of the climate change,” CM Murad Ali Shah said. “The objective will be to enhance per acre yield of crops and water conservation,” the chief minister further said.
The cabinet approved 116 million rupees for the project.
The cabinet approved the name of Imtiaz Ali Shah for appointment as managing director of the Sindh Energy Efficiency and Conservation Agency.
The cabinet meeting also congratulated chief minister Shah for holding a successful donors conference.
