In a disturbing trend of rising violent incidents in Karachi, a man critically injured during a robbery in the New Karachi Industrial Area succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, bringing the total deaths in such incidents this month to 10. Additionally, three individuals, including a woman, sustained injuries in separate firing incidents across North Karachi, Paposh Nagar, and Sachal areas.

The tragic incident unfolded at an LPG gas cylinder shop in Sector 11G of the New Karachi Industrial Area. Taj Muhammad, a 40-year-old shop owner, faced suspected robbers attempting to loot his establishment. In a bid to resist the robbery, Taj Muhammad, who possessed a licensed pistol, was shot in the neck and thigh by the assailants. Despite being rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in critical condition, he succumbed to his injuries. The police discovered two 30-bore pistol shells at the crime scene and are actively seeking CCTV footage to aid investigations.

In a separate incident near Power House Chowrangi in North Karachi, a 25-year-old man named Arsalan suffered serious injuries from gunfire. The incident was attributed to an accidental discharge of a firearm at a rent-a-car office. Arsalan was promptly transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, and authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the accidental shooting.

Adding to the unsettling events, a 28-year-old woman named Iram was injured in a firing incident near checkpost No 5 of Malir Cantonment in Saadi Town. Preliminary findings by Sachal police indicate that the shooting occurred during a dispute, and the injured woman was swiftly taken to a nearby private hospital near Safoora Chowrangi. Law enforcement agencies are actively gathering more information to ascertain the details of the incident.

These incidents underscore the escalating violence in various parts of Karachi, raising concerns about the safety and security of residents. As law enforcement agencies intensify their efforts to investigate these cases, there is a growing call for comprehensive measures to address the root causes of such incidents and enhance overall public safety in the city.
