Government takes one more step towards women empowerment and society development by hiring female traffic police constables. Previously hectic jobs were associated with males but with the changing dynamics of society females are being trained to play their part and become vital part of job sector. There has been increase in recruitment of females in all the development sectors.
Female constables are deployed at Shahrah-e-Faisal for the first time in the history of Karachi. Female constables can be seen working whole heartedly at Cantt Traffic Section and Avari Signal. Females are considered delicate but they are devoted towards their job and want to work for excellence of Pakistan.
Traffic chaos in Karachi has reached its peak and its management require competent work force and it has opened door for women to perform well and make their mark.
A deployed woman traffic police warden said that, “They are eager to work hand in hand with male constables and are also keen to guide and assist women drivers who are not well informed about traffic rules”.
According to the traffic police, hiring of female constables is done on experimental basis and if it proves to be fruitful, more female constables will be hired and deployed in the city of lights.
