Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, inaugurated a hospital dedicated to the treatment of drug addiction in Karachi, as reported by ARY News. The Benazir Shaheed Model Addiction Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, located in the Manghopir area of Karachi, was inaugurated with CM Murad Ali Shah as the chief guest.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by provincial ministers Sharjeel Memon, Murtaza Wahab, Saeed Ghani, and Mukesh Kumar Chawla. The Federal Minister for Narcotics Control, Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti, was also present as the guest of honor.
The hospital aims to provide free medical facilities to drug addicts and offers opportunities for social engagement to the patients. In his address at the ceremony, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed the collective commitment to making Pakistan a drug-free country.
He highlighted the significant number of individuals in society who are trapped in the clutches of drug addiction, emphasizing the urgent need for measures to curb and prevent drug abuse.
