In order to reclaim encroached lands close to Jail Chowrangi, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) launched an anti-encroachment operation on Thursday.
The KMC store and water hydrant built under Jail Chowrangi have reportedly also been destroyed, according to KDA sources. Meanwhile, the administrator, Dr. Saifur Rehman, announced that a park would be built on the vacant site.
The Urban Forest on the Jail Chowrangi Flyover Loop is currently being built.
The administrator declared that the operation would go on until all encroachments in the vicinity of Jail Chowrangi and its surroundings were eliminated.
According to the administrator, thousands of tonnes of trash were also removed from the Jail Chowrangi flyover loop.
