More than 600 victims of sexual violence were brought to three major government hospitals in Karachi last year, according to Police Surgeon Dr. Samia.
At the Model Anti-Rape Crisis Cell in Jinnah Hospital, 347 women and 56 men were treated, while 247 suspects accused of sexual violence were also examined.
In the Pilot Anti-Rape Crisis Cell at Civil Hospital, 28 female and 28 male victims received medical assistance, and 74 suspects underwent medical check-ups.
At Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, 179 women and 57 men were brought for treatment, while 184 suspected perpetrators were examined.
The figures highlight the widespread issue of sexual violence in Karachi, which the authorities failed to curb.
