Authorities in Karachi have enforced VVIP security and traffic arrangements for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
As part of the measures, a 48-day parking ban has been imposed on both sides of the service road along Shara-e-Faisal. The ban will be enforced from February 9 to March 28.
Residents, business owners, and office managers in the area have been formally notified.
The Traffic Police have warned that violators will face legal action, and their vehicles will be towed to maintain security and smooth traffic flow during the tournament.
A day earlier, the federal government decided to deploy Army and Rangers for foolproof security arrangements for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tournament.
According to the media report, approval has been obtained from the federal cabinet for the deployment of the Pakistan Army and Rangers.
The reports further suggest that the Army will be deployed under Article 245 of the Constitution, while the deployment of Rangers will be done under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.
It is pertinent to mention here that the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to be hosted in Pakistan and UAE with the first match starting from February 19 at the National Stadium in Karachi, where the opening match will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand.
