Karachi records coldest night of season at 8.5°C

Karachi experienced its coldest night of the winter season, with temperatures dropping to 8.5°C, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

As per the reports, the city has been experiencing chilly weather, particularly at night, due to north-easterly winds.

The Met Office has forecasted a slight further dip in temperatures over the next 24 hours, with the mercury expected to range between 8°C and 10°C.

Over the past 24 hours, the city recorded 25 percent humidity, with light north-easterly winds.

Gulistan-e-Johar recorded the lowest temperature in the city at 6.5°C, while other areas like Jinnah Terminal and Shahrah-e-Faisal saw temperatures of 8.5°C, Maripur recorded 9°C, and Bin Qasim recorded 9.7°C.

Meanwhile, Balochistan is enduring even colder conditions. Quetta and Ziarat reported temperatures of -6°C, while Kalat saw the mercury dip to -7°C.

Other regions, including Pishin, Mastung, Zhob, Qila Saifullah, and Qila Abdullah, also experienced freezing weather.

The PMD warned that cold and dry conditions would persist in most parts of Balochistan, with extremely cold weather in mountainous areas.
