The consumers of K-Electric is likely to face a surge in their monthly electricity bills as the company announced an adjustment of Rs 2.17 per unit for the month of November.
This adjustment of Rs 2.17 will be an addition to the existing rate of Rs 3.17 per unit, making a total price of Rs 4.91 per unit.
Meanwhile, the power utility also announced a quarterly adjustment of Rs 1.74 per unit, which will be charged separately.
The quarterly adjustment is the part of the tariff adjustment mechanics, proposes to pass on the fuel price variation to the power consumers.
Earlier to this, K-Electric announced an increase of Rs 2.59 per unit for the month of October, while a request to increase the price to Rs. 51 paise per unit for the month of August is still pending for the approval.
