To motivate citizens to get fully inoculated, the government has decided to only let fully immunised individuals travel via train from September 15.
The National Command and Operation Centre said on Wednesday that tickets won’t be issued to people that are not vaccinated. Vaccination has already been mandated for railway officers and staff members
In efforts to facilitate passengers and railway staff, mobile vaccination centres have been set up at railways stations across the country. Station masters are to be held responsible if people without valid vaccination certificates are issued train tickets.
In the last 24 hours, 3,559 new cases were reported across the country, while 101 people passed away due to the coronavirus.
