Sindh IG instructs for extraordinary surveillance of cattle markets

IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon has directed the police to formulate and implement a contingency plan for extraordinary security measures at the livestock markets established in the province. He has instructed the department to liaison with Pakistan Rangers Sindh and other law enforcement agencies.

He said that steps should be taken to set up cattle markets only at selected or designated places and all measures against illegal cattle markets should be made effective at all levels.

The IG Sindh said that all the main routes to and from the superhighway cattle market should be surveyed by the police stations in the surrounding areas including sub-routes. Raids should be carried out under regular surveillance and identification in the areas potentially affected by crime. Patrolling picketing and random snap checking on highways and other highways should be tightened for the security of various vehicles carrying cattle and cattle traders.

He said that apart from setting up temporary police pickets to protect buyers and traders in cattle markets, all security and traffic measures should be made and services of the Bomb Disposal Squad should also be provided.
