No bi-monthly fee challan, teachers must be paid full salaries, tell Sindh government

In a notification issued, Sindh Government has ordered all private schools to pay teachers their complete salaries timely.

Director-General private Institution Dr. Mansoob Hussain Siddiqui in the notification has ordered all schools to issue fees challan per month rather than quarterly or bi-monthly charges.

The circular also forbade any terminations of teaching and non-teaching staff during the school closure because of the pandemic.

The notifications warned all violators and stated that they will be dealt with under the Sindh Private Educational Institutions (Regular & Control) Amendment Act-2003 and Rules – 2005. Under the Amendment a school’s registration may be suspended or even canceled.

The circular also stated that schools may provide fee concessions to deserving students during this period.

All schools have been closed till 31st May and the period till then will be counted as the annual summer vacation.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has directed all universities and accredited institutions to start online classes if possible.

In order to resume education, it has ordered universities with well-built learning management systems to restart classes remotely.

Those institutions which lack the resources may mark this period as summer vacations and must make arrangements for online classes from June onwards.

Earlier, HEC had ordered the closure of all universities, institutions and schools.
