Mohsin Naqvi remains confident of India’s participation in Champions Trophy

The chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Naqvi has expressed that India will most likely travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

During a press conference in Lahore, the chairman was asked about India’s participation in the Pakistan-hosted ICC Champions Trophy in 2025, and he responded that he was very hopeful of it. “We are ready for the Champions Trophy and all teams will travel to Pakistan,” he answered to a question. “There is nothing to suggest they (India) will cancel or postpone, and we expect all teams to come here (Pakistan),” he added.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to kick off on February 19th, 2025 in three cities of Pakistan including Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. The top eight teams will feature in the tournament, including Pakistan, India, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, England, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. Pakistan will not only play as the host but also the defending champion while Afghanistan will make its debut in the competition.

The chairman also answered a question regarding new talent that emerged during the recently held Champions Cup. “I believe many players have emerged but I can only recommend that the final decision is with the team management. I cannot control them more than that.”
