Karachi’s milk prices may rise to Rs155 per litre

The Dairy Farmers Association on Tuesday announced that the new estimated price of milk will be Rs155 per litre.

According to President Shakir Umar Gujjar, a letter has been written by the association to Secretary Livestock to review milk prices.

The association claims that Commissioner Karachi has not yet issued a new notification in this regard, due to which dairy and cattle farmers are losing millions of rupees daily.

Gujjar said that by abiding by the old prices, dairy farmers are facing severe losses and now there is clear and visible pressure from the farmer community for the association to increase the price of milk.

He also said that if the Karachi Commissioner fails to issue a notification of the new price, the dairy farmers would automatically announce the increase.
