A world-class air traffic control (ATC) complex and fire station are set to be constructed at Jinnah International Airport, bringing the facility up to modern aviation standards.

An important meeting, chaired by the Director of Planning and Projects, reviewed the development plan. Officials stated that the new ATC tower would provide enhanced visibility and significantly improve air traffic management.

Sources revealed that the Rs 47 crore project is expected to be completed in three years. The area radar center will be relocated to the new ATC tower, featuring a dedicated radar display area. Additionally, the fire department offices and fire station will be shifted to the new facility.

The current ATC tower, which is over 50 years old, is said to have a low height, but safety measures have been maintained using advanced equipment. However, the new tower will be constructed in accordance with international standards, ensuring better visibility, safety, and efficiency in air traffic control.
