The Supreme Court restored the status of Hamza Shehbaz as the interim Chief Minister of Punjab again.
The decision was taken by a three-member bench consisting of Chief Justice Supreme Court, Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Muneeb Akhtar heard on the request of PTI and Q-League.
The Supreme Court restored the status of Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz due to the non-preparation of the lawyer of the Deputy Speaker Punjab.
The Chief Justice remarked that Hamza Shehbaz will act as a trustee till the decision of the case, Irfan Qadir has to submit a detailed answer in the case, today’s hearing showed that Irfan Qadir is not ready.
The three-member bench of the Supreme Court ordered the Deputy Speaker to submit a written reply and said that the Punjab government should also submit its detailed and written reply, we cannot leave the province without governance.
Earlier during the hearing, the court asked Dost Muhammad Mazari’s lawyer to tell him which paragraph of our order, on which the Deputy Speaker gave the ruling? You should read that paragraph. Lawyer Irfan Qadir said that today is my first appearance. You are taking a difficult test, the honorable judges said that you should read the Deputy Speaker’s ruling.

The court while talking to the deputy speaker’s lawyer said we know you are a very competent lawyer, tell us how you got ten votes? Irfan Qadir asked whether I should read the order first or should I read the ruling? On which the Chief Justice remarked that you should first read the ruling of the Deputy Speaker. The deputy speaker’s lawyer read Doost Mazari’s ruling and said that in the previous decisions of the Supreme Court, different interpretations were revealed, the interpretation that you understood is the same interpretation that the deputy speaker understood, the Supreme Court said that those who voted against the party policy. Votes should not be counted.
Justice Ijazul Hassan remarked that the role of the parliamentary leader in the court decision is clear, the vote of the one who does not follow the instructions of the parliamentary leader is not to be counted, what is the ambiguity in this decision? Later, the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of the case till Monday against the Deputy Speaker’s ruling and summoned the Deputy Speaker to Islamabad on Monday along with the records.
The Supreme Court ordered that the Deputy Speaker should also present the basis of the ruling, we cannot leave the province with confusion.
For the hearing of the most important case, Mansoor Usman Advocate on behalf of the newly elected Chief Minister Punjab Hamza Shahbaz, Irfan Qadir Advocate on behalf of Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari appeared in the Supreme Court while Additional Attorney General Aamir Rehman, Advocate General Punjab Shehzad Shaukat provided judicial assistance.

During the hearing of the most important case, the courtroom was filled with lawyers and political leaders, on which the Chief Justice ordered that all irrelevant persons should leave the courtroom.

The Chief Justice said that the hearing is not possible in such circumstances, we shift the hearing to another room, later the further hearing of the case was held in Court Number Two, where a video link was also arranged.
