Explosion killed two Chinese nationals in Karachi

A midnight explosion in Karachi near the Jinnah International Airport has killed two Chinese nationals and injured almost a dozen locals. According to the statement released by the Chinese embassy in Pakistan, a convoy from the Port Qasim Electric Power Company was the target of the ‘terrorist attack’ near Jinnah International. “The Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in Pakistan strongly condemn this terrorist attack, express deep condolences to the innocent victims of both countries and sincere sympathies to the injured and (their) families,” reads the statements released by the Chinese embassy.

According to the media reports, Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a banned outfit in Pakistan, has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif has also released a statement on X, a social media platform, “Pakistan stands committed to safeguarding our Chinese friends. We will leave no stone unturned to ensure their security and well-being.”
