Sindh Education Minister Azra Fazl Pechuho has directed the education department to prevent the admission of children to schools if they do not have the required Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) vaccination records.

Speaking on Friday, Pechuho said schools across Sindh should make it mandatory for parents to provide vaccination records when seeking admission for their children.
Vaccination Records to Be Required
The minister said the education department had been asked to ensure that schools require vaccination records as part of the admission process.
The move is aimed at encouraging routine childhood immunisation and ensuring that children receive vaccines under the EPI programme.
Pechuho also highlighted the importance of vaccination during early childhood, particularly for children under two years of age.
“The immunity among children below the age of two years remains low and these years require the vaccination more than any other period in life,” she said.
Focus on Childhood Immunisation
The proposed requirement would make vaccination records an important part of school admissions in the province.
The initiative reflects efforts by the Sindh government to improve childhood immunisation coverage and encourage parents to keep their children’s vaccination schedules up to date.
