Pakistan Railways has received a shipment of 70 new cargo coaches from China, marking the third batch of coaches under the contract agreement between the two countries. The ship carrying the coaches arrived at the Karachi port and was quickly unloaded by the railway management.
According to Divisional Superintendent (DS) Railway, the newly arrived cargo coaches will be installed in different freight trains, which will significantly increase the number of freight trains and improve the overall efficiency of freight operations. The agreement with China officials will import a total of 230 cars, with the aim of modernizing Pakistan Railways and improving its services.
“The arrival of the new coaches is an important milestone in our ongoing efforts to modernize Pakistan Railways and make it more efficient,” said the DS Railway in a statement.
