Karachi is seeing another exuberant rise in the price of chicken in the city with poultry being sold between Rs400 to 450/kg in the city.
Citizens claim that the price hike is man-made and vendors claim that poultry farms have started supplying chicken at a much higher price saying that there is a shortage of birds in the country.
Sources within the trade claim that the hike is being orchestrated as the demand for poultry has increased due to the wedding season.
