The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir has dismissed claims of receiving letters from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, stating that no such communication has reached him.
“I have not received any letter from anyone, and if I do, I will send it to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif,” he said during an informal discussion with journalists here on Thursday in Islamabad.
The remarks come in response to Imran Khan’s claim that he has sent letters to the Army Chief twice.
However, as per media reports the security sources have denied these claims.
Despite this, the former prime minister has announced plans to write a third letter to COAS Asim Munir.
Speaking outside Adiala Jail, Aleema Khanum, Imran Khan’s sister, confirmed that the letter would be sent next week.
She further emphasized the need for unity between the army and the nation to combat terrorism in Pakistan.
