All of Karachi’s water to be filtered, Sindh secy

Sindh Chief Secretary Dr Muhammad Sohail Rajput has said that every drop of water supplied to the city would be filtered to ensure clean water supply to the citizens.

He was presiding over a meeting of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Services Improvement Pro-ject (KWSSIP) Steering Committee here at the Sindh Secretariat. 

The meeting was attended by Senior Member Board of Revenue Baqaullah Unar, Secretary Fi-nance Sajid Jamal Abro, Secretary Local Government Syed Najam Shah, Project Director Syed Salahuddin Ahmed and other relevant officers.

The Chief Secretary said Sindh government was working for the rehabilitation of Karachi’s water and sanitation infrastructure. He further said that water supply and sewerage system improve-ment projects were being implemented in Karachi at a cost of USD 1.6 billion in collaboration with World Bank, and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
