This decline erases most of Wednesday’s gain, suggesting that the market remains under pressure and that the recent recovery may be short-lived. The persistent volatility continues to define trading conditions.
In 10 grams, 24-karat gold decreased by Rs. 2,572 to Rs. 376,059, while 22-karat gold fell by Rs. 2,358 to Rs. 344,733. The declines across all variants indicate renewed selling pressure as the new month begins.
The drop was influenced by continued weakness in global markets. The international gold price fell by $30 to $4,161, extending its retreat from recent levels. This global softness provided a bearish cue for local traders.
Since the late August peak above Rs. 483,000, gold has now retreated approximately Rs. 45,000 per tola. The metal remains above the July lows near Rs. 421,000, but the inability to sustain rebounds suggests that investors remain cautious amid ongoing global economic uncertainty.
A day earlier, gold rate in Pakistan staged a rebound, closing the month of September on a positive note after a turbulent trading period. The 24-karat gold rate rose by Rs. 4,300, closing at Rs. 441,636 per tola.
This solid gain follows two consecutive sessions of losses, suggesting that buying interest has returned after the recent sharp correction. The recovery indicates that investors viewed the recent dip as an attractive entry point.
In 10 grams, 24-karat gold increased by Rs. 3,686 to Rs. 378,631, while 22-karat gold rose by Rs. 3,379 to Rs. 347,091. The broad-based gains across all variants indicate renewed buying pressure.
